Extended Market Pilot Program Frequently Asked Questions


1. What changes have been made to the pilot markets?

Currently, to be listed in a market on Gartner Peer Insights, the following criteria must be met:

  • The Vendor product or service must have at least half (50% or more) of the capabilities or services identified in the Magic Quadrant or Market Guide market definition.
  • The Vendor must sell the product to mid to large-size enterprise clients.

As part of our effort to provide end-users with additional vendor/product options, we are adding an extended market to selected pilot markets.

To be listed in this extended market, your products or services must meet the following inclusion criteria:

  • The Vendor product or service must have at least one but less than 50% of the capabilities or services identified in the Magic Quadrant or Market Guide market definition.
  • The Vendor must sell the product to mid to large-size enterprise clients.

The organizations and products listed in the extended market will be featured on the same market and product pages as the products that meet the defined 50% or more of the capabilities.

2. Why were my products/services included?

Your product/service was added to this extended market because it meets the following inclusion criteria for this market:

  • The Vendor product or service must have at least one but less than 50% of the capabilities or services identified in the Magic Quadrant or Market Guide market definition.
  • The Vendor must sell the product to mid to large-size enterprise clients.

3. My product was moved from an “Others” market to this one. What is the impact?

All reviews previously associated with the “Others” market have been migrated to the new market accordingly. These products are now able to be compared to other similar products from competitors in the same market.

You are now able to ask your customers to review you within the new market. Please refer to the “Review Sourcing” FAQ section in Peer Insights’ Technology Provider Tool for more information.

4. Am I able to be included as part of the main market in the future?

To be included in the main market, your products or services must have at least 50% of the capabilities or services identified in the Magic Quadrant or Market Guide market definition.

If you would like your products or services to be re-evaluated for inclusion, please submit a product change request through the “Products/Markets” tab of the Gartner Peer Insights’ Technology Provider Tools.

The Gartner Peer Insights market alignment team reviews all requests, and will provide you with an update accordingly. The final determination if a product or service fits in a category is at the discretion of Gartner Peer Insights.

5. What if there’s a different market where my product may fit better? Can I move my reviews over there?

You are able to review the list of active markets to determine which market best aligns to the capabilities of your product/service.

If there is a market on Gartner Peer Insights that is a better fit, please submit a product change request through the “Products/Markets” tab of the Gartner Peer Insights’ Technology Provider Tools.

The Gartner Peer Insights market alignment team reviews all requests, and will provide you with an update accordingly. The final determination if a product or service fits in a category is at the discretion of Gartner Peer Insights.

6. Am I now eligible for the Gartner Peer Insights “Voice of the Customer” research document?

We currently do not have plans to include organizations designated as extended within the “Voice of the Customer” for the pilot markets. We will continue to monitor the overall activity and interest in the markets and determine additional inclusion accordingly.

All markets eligible for Voice of the Customer are listed on our Roadmap of upcoming markets.
