Gartner Blog Network

Hello world

Hello world and welcome to my first post on the Gartner Blogger Network.

This blog entry is largely the ‘get to know him’ post and, in this regard, you can see some of my career stats above or on LinkedIn.

As a Research Director based in Australia, my primary role at Gartner will be to focus on infrastructure software. Within this broad spectrum, my focus will be virtualisation management, cloud management and (more generally) IT operations management. Operating from this part of the world, but looking at global trends, I am able to offera distinct perspective on adoption trends, organisational maturity and market viability … more of that in my first real post.

To keep things light-hearted, as I sign-off this first brief blog entry, here’s a little peak into how some may see me … with thanks to xkcd.
