Strong Momentum for Risk Management Research in 2016

by John A. Wheeler  |  December 22, 2015  |  1 Comment

The last several weeks have been quite active in our world of Integrated Risk Management Solutions (IRMS) research.

integratedgrcWe have begun our analysis and publication processes across seven IRMS market segments that include Operational Risk Management (ORM), IT Risk Management (ITRM), IT Vendor Risk Management (VRM), Business Continuity Management Planning (BCMP), Audit Management (AM), Corporate Compliance & Oversight (CCO) and Enterprise Legal Management (ELM).

Just last week, we published the first in a series of IRMS reports – our Magic Quadrant for Operational Risk Management Solutions (access restricted to Gartner clients). This first publication is important because it represents the core of a well-designed, integrated RMS approach (see figure on right). On the heels of this report, we have plans to publish the following IRMS related reports in 2016.

Report Name Lead Author Target Publication Date
Market Guide for Audit Management Solutions Kushbu Pretap Jan-16
Critical Capabilities for Operational Risk Management Solutions John A. Wheeler Feb-16
Market Guide for Enterprise Legal Management Solutions Jie Zhang Feb-16
Magic Quadrant for IT Risk Management Solutions Kushbu Pretap Apr-16
Magic Quadrant for IT Vendor Risk Management Solutions Chris Ambrose Apr-16
Magic Quadrant for Business Continuity Management Planning Solutions Roberta Witty May-16
Market Guide for Corporate Compliance & Oversight Solutions Elizabeth Kim May-16

In addition to the planned research publications, we will be presenting IRMS related topics at our 2016 Security & Risk Management Summits across the globe. These events are increasing in popularity and drew more than 5,000 attendees last year. It is a great opportunity for both Gartner clients and non-Gartner attendees to interact with analysts, as well as their peers, on a variety of subjects including IRMS.

So, as you can see, 2016 will be filled with many opportunities to learn about how you can best employ RMS technologies and solutions. Best wishes for a very safe holiday season and a fantastic new year filled with IRMS success!
