We’re deep into Gartner conference season.
First came Catalyst where I spoke with many of you about your Information Classification and Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) efforts. We talked about what an Entitlement Catalog is and how to build one. You told me your access certification trials and tribulations, what vendors worked, and how Gartner could help you improve things. We shared our frustrations in designing and executing information classification initiatives.
If you weren’t able to attend Catalyst, there’s good news. You’ll have two more opportunities over the next few weeks to hear me speak on topics including IGA and privacy.
This Thursday and Friday I’m presenting at the Gartner Cape Town Symposium. My sessions include:
- Harnessing the Power of Identity Governance and Administration to Reduce Risk
- Implementing Privacy in Technical Operations
- The Role of Identity and Access Management in Public and Private Clouds
- Roundtable: What’s New in the World of Privacy Laws and Practices?
During the privacy-related sessions we’ll spend some extra time discussing South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act.
Then, in the first week of October, I’ll be at the Gartner Symposium in Orlando where I’ll participate in the debut of a brand new type of Gartner presentation called an Espresso Session. This fast-paced, 30 minute session will have a different look and feel from traditional Gartner conference sessions. The title of mine is “Privacy v. the World.” I hope you’ll come check it out!
In addition to presenting “Privacy v. the World” twice during the conference, my other sessions include:
- Managing Privacy Risks in the Public Cloud
- Roundtable: Are Mobile Devices Too Revealing? Privacy and Information Protection in Enterprise Mobility Programs
And of course, there’s the opportunity to schedule one-on-one time with me to discuss everything from privacy to information classification to IGA. Act now – my available time slots are filling up fast!
My favorite part of being a Gartner analyst is speaking with you and learning about what successes and challenges you face on a daily basis while just trying to get your job done. I hope you’ll find me in Cape Town or Orlando so not only can I answer your questions, but so that I can also learn from you.
