In less than four weeks, I will have the privelege of delivering the opening keynote for Gartner’s Customer360 Summit at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront September 9-11. You can find all the details, including the full agenda here. It is a reprise of a similar keynote I delivered at our EMEA CRM conference this past May in London. As a career marketer and now a technologist, C360 is one of my favorite Gartner events.
The title of my presentation is “Customer Engagement Will Accelerate to the Speed of Digital Business.” In this keynote, I will make connections between Gartner’s work on Digital Business and the Internet of Things and how customer engagement will need to change. In developing this presentation, I came to appreciate how anyone, using easy access to a wide range of technologies, has the power to compete with you by developing new and innovative business models. The poster children for this wave of change is embodied in now well known examples such as Airbnb, Uber, and Kickstarter. However, there are plenty of other examples from a wide range of industries from which we can all learn- with the pace of change and new entrants only accelerating. I’ll highlight some of these examples and also provide some recommendations to the audience on how to get started. I had great fun delivering this at our London event and I am looking forward to getting our North America audience equally excited about the possibilities open to all industries in the world of digital business and digital transformation.
But wait, there’s more! The Gartner CRM team is seriously putting me to work and I will also be speaking on the following (see full agenda here):
- Maverick Session: The Internet of Things — How to Get Ready for When Things Become Customers (one of my more popular sessions)
- Redesign Your Customer Experience Using Business Moments (business moments are a key building block of digital business)
- Workshop: Build a Solid IT Marketing Relationship to Drive Digital Leadership (with my good friend, Kim Collins)
If you are a North America IT leader that works on customer-facing technology applications, I hope you can make time to join us.
Digital Business and the Internet of Things will change customer engagement. Are you up to speed?
