Symposium season is upon us at Gartner! Dale Hagemeyer and I are looking forward to sharing some new content and research on how digital technologies and digital business are changing the nature of retail and consumer relationships in the consumer goods industry. It is our busiest time of the year, but also our most exciting because it gives us the chance to drive discussion among our clients and prospects. Below is a summary of the content Dale and I will be delivering on Industry Sunday:
- How Digital Business Will Reshape Consumer Relationships in the Consumer Goods Industry 05 October, 2014 (10:45 AM – 11:30 AM) Digital business creates new business designs by blurring the physical and digital worlds. In this session, we examine the consumer goods industry through the lens of digital business and identify key consumer opportunities the industry will face in the coming 1 to 2 years and how IT leaders can prepare their organizations.
- A Technology Approach to Manufacturer/Retailer Collaboration 05 October, 2014 (11:45 AM – 12:30 AM) Survey data shows that consumer goods manufacturers lack many capabilities to effectively collaborate with retail channel partners. Through benchmark survey data and best practices, CG manufacturers can more effectively prioritize their investments in people and technology.
- Workshop: Build a Solid Relationship With Marketing to Drive Digital Leadership in Consumer Goods, A CIO and senior IT Executive workshop 05 October, 2014 (1:45 PM – 3:15 PM) With the impact that technology has on almost every aspect of marketing, the relationship between IT and Marketing is increasingly crucial – and, it is one of the least developed relationships in a company. In this workshop, participants will discuss best practices for building and maintaining a powerful, results driven relationship – one of great importance in the world of digital business
- Five Game Changers for Consumer Goods Manufacturers to Improve In-Store Execution 05 October, 2014 (3:45 PM – 4:30 PM) New technologies can help consumer goods manufacturers to better execute at the store shelf either on their own or through channel partners. This session presents five capabilities from recent Gartner Predicts and Cool Vendors research
We look forward to seeing our clients and prospects at the event. If you are unable to attend, then you can follow the action on Twitter by following #GartnerSYM.
