Gartner is proud to share that we have received a 100 out of 100 on the Disability Equality Index (DEI) which reflects our ongoing commitment to making the workplace more inclusive. We support associates of all abilities and are committed to creating a place where individuals impacted by a disability, neurodiversity, and chronic or mental illness can thrive.
The DEI is a comprehensive benchmarking tool that helps companies build a roadmap of measurable, tangible actions that they can take to achieve disability inclusion and equality. Each company receives a score, on a scale of zero (0) to 100, with those earning 80 and above recognized as a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion.”
The DEI is a joint initiative of the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), the nation’s largest disability rights organization, and Disability:IN, the global business disability inclusion network, to collectively advance the inclusion of people with disabilities. The tool was developed by the DEI Advisory Committee, a diverse group of business leaders, policy experts, and disability advocates.
In 2021, 319 corporations utilized the DEI to benchmark their disability inclusion efforts. The 2021 DEI measured: Culture & Leadership; Enterprise-Wide Access; Employment Practices (Benefits, Recruitment, Employment, Education, Retention & Advancement, Accommodations); Community Engagement; Supplier Diversity; Non-U.S. Operations (Non-Weighted). In 2021, following the global pandemic, the DEI was modernized to add new non-weighted questions about innovative technology to advance digital and remote accessibility; mental wellness benefits; services for Deaf and hard of hearing employees, and flexible work options.

At Gartner, we strive to ensure that all associates feel a sense of community and belonging. Earlier this year, our associates hosted a Real Talk to create a safe space and an open forum for an honest conversation about navigating visible and invisible physical disabilities, neurological diversity, mental health challenges, and the responsibilities that come with caring for a child or dependent. In addition, we are excited about the recent launch of the Collective Abilities Network (CAN), an Employee Resource Group (ERG) which aims to ensure that associates of all abilities have what they need to reach their full potential.
