‘From a shy corporate newbie to a confident professional’ – Jasmine Arora, Research Specialist
I started my Gartner journey right out of college back in 2018. I joined as a part of the Peer & Practitioner Research and Advisory team as an Associate. My quest for identifying business solutions started when I was in high school. My mom owned a salon and I would often volunteer to look at her sales numbers, diagnose reasons for low profitability, or seek to understand why her employees were dissatisfied. I would then come up with solutions to help engage her employees, market her services and build the brand. I was always intrigued to find the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of any business problem. Maybe that is what interested me to get into Research as a career.
Over the years at Gartner, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds across the globe and interact with many senior leaders from some of the world’s largest companies. All these interactions and work experiences have given me the confidence to experiment with different approaches, challenge my assumptions and find out-of-the-box solutions. It is fascinating to see the work we do directly speak to our client’s mission-critical priorities and address their most critical challenges. My managers at Gartner have always been deeply invested in my professional growth and consistently pushed me to work outside of my comfort zone. All these contributed to my transformation from a corporate infant to a confident professional. Three years and many milestones later, I can confidently say that I made the best decision when I started my career with Gartner.
‘Learning never stops at Gartner’ – Ishaan Gambhir, Senior Research Specialist
I joined Gartner in 2016 as a Research Associate in the Peer and Practitioner Research team. My first research assignment was to create bite-sized answers to some of the most common problems of procurement leaders. Today, I’m a Senior Research Specialist supporting Gartner’s supply chain clients with qualitative insights and actionable recommendations that enable them to achieve their mission-critical priorities.
However, behind the scenes and between ‘then’ and ‘now’ lies an incredible amount of personal growth and achievement. A more accurate way to describe my career at Gartner is ‘where the learning never stops.’ Over the past 5 years, I have had extensive opportunities to develop my terrain knowledge, sharpen my research skills and experiment with new ideas. A unique feature of working at Gartner is that it allows you to come very close to client workflows to identify critical challenges, while also providing the tools and methodologies needed to find the right solutions. I have benefited from our established research process as I have progressed in my role and explored different challenges, and our clients have found unmatched value in our insights. It is always rewarding to see the power of ideas and collaboration have an immediate and direct impact on clients as they respond to their business needs.
