Through the work of our Women at Gartner employee resource group (ERG) and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Center of Excellence, our associates are supported with the tools, skills and resources needed to achieve their ambitions.
Below, two female leaders from our Client Services organization (CSO) are sharing their experiences navigating the corporate world, how they’ve grown at Gartner and their plans for effecting change as the leaders of global teams.
I joined the Gartner team in 2004 as a Client Partner supporting High-Tech and Telecom Professional clients. In this role, I used every opportunity I had to learn something new. By expanding my knowledge base, I was able to gain new skills and expertise, which then prepared me well to begin mentoring newly hired associates. Throughout my career at Gartner, I’ve continued this growth pattern until I was promoted to VP of Premium Services in 2019. In this role, I’m responsible for a team of 1 Director, 3 Sr. Managers, 8 managers and approximately 90 associates, who support some of our largest technology clients.
What I absolutely love the most about CSO is how passionate we are about delivering exceptional client experiences and value. On our team, we strive each day to continuously learn so that we can be the best strategic partners for our clients. We are also passionate about creating an unrivaled culture of collaboration, where we lift each other up and celebrate each other’s successes.
At Gartner, associates are encouraged to take control and ownership of their professional paths. You’ll be tasked to go out of your comfort zone, to learn as much as you can and seek out opportunities to grow. It’s important to remember that growth and comfort never coexist.
I joined Gartner in 2017 as a Client Partner after being referred into the organization by a friend – who I can’t thank enough! With continuous coaching from my leaders and a clear focus on my development plan, I navigated my way to my current role as a Service Delivery Manager in 2019. As the leader of a team, I place emphasis on our mission – which is to provide our clients with continuous, innovative insights to help them achieve their goals.
I’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing people within Gartner’s CSO including my leaders, colleagues, business partners. The respect, support and coaching you receive at Gartner helps to keep me motivated as a people leader.
So, what advice would I have for someone interested in joining the team? Never stop wanting to learn – Gartner offers various opportunities to learn and improve, so it’s important to seek these things out and take action. Whether you’re first starting your career or have several years of industry experience, you should remain passionate about developing yourself and owning your continued education – it will only help you go further and achieve more.
