Meet Dominique Ellington, a recruiter for our Research & Advisory roles, who is working in our Arlington, VA office. What does she love the most about her job? She is able to help candidates find their dream job. Learn more about why Dominique chose Gartner as she shares her story below.
As a Research & Advisory recruiter, I am constantly explaining to passive job-seekers what it is like to work here at Gartner. While most recruiters in the market use this opportunity to put on their “sales hat” and entice candidates to take a role, I have the pleasure of speaking firsthand about the amazing reasons why I choose to work at Gartner each day.
I joined the Research & Advisory recruiting organization in our Arlington, VA, office in October 2018, at a time when the team was transitioning and rebuilding. As one may imagine, I was initially apprehensive about joining this new, growing team to recruit critical mid- to senior-level research positions; however, I was very excited about the opportunity to hire great talent into an amazing, diverse organization.
Although my role of hiring high-caliber researchers can be quite challenging, I thoroughly enjoy working with intelligent and collaborative hiring managers and stakeholders. Gartner has provided me the unique opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals from Stamford to India and the United Kingdom. Through these working relationships I have learned so much about each office’s culture and how they positively impact the broader organization.
From an external standpoint, I have the pleasure of speaking with a multitude of candidates day in and day out who come from varied educational, professional and cultural backgrounds. As a recruiter, diversity and inclusion is very important to me, and I am grateful to work for a company that embraces hiring individuals from all walks of life. Gartner does an amazing job of investing in employee resource groups (ERGs) to ensure our employees are supported both personally and professionally.
Whether you are a veteran, member of the LGBTQ community, identify as a racial or cultural minority, passionate about driving engagement, recruitment and professional development opportunities for women, or want to move the needle in any of these areas, then there is an employee group for you here at Gartner!
So, when it comes to explaining why I choose to work here every day, the answer is easy! I love collaborating with team-oriented and intellectual individuals who accept, support, encourage and promote diversity and inclusion across all facets. Working for a company that welcomes diversity of thought, background and experience gives everyone the opportunity to have a voice, and it is exciting for that voice to be heard regardless of your position within the organization.
