I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) three years ago with a marketing degree from the Lutgert College of Business. In my time at FGCU, I helped to start the first coed professional business fraternity, Pi Sigma Epsilon, which allowed me to build a strong network at Gartner. Through the organization, I was able to network with successful Gartner associates who were also FGCU alumni. This really drove my interest in a sales profession and a career at Gartner.
I began the interview process right before my graduation in May of 2016. The interview was no easy feat — it challenged me in many ways and pushed me to embrace being out of my comfort zone. Throughout the process, I met so many talented people and grew a deeper respect for the amount Gartner invests in its people.
I started as Account Manager in August of 2016, focusing mainly on helping C-level clients at small-to-midsize tech provider companies meet their business goals through working with Gartner. The other part of my role was focused on prospecting to bring on new businesses as clients of Gartner. I found success in this role, particularly in the client service aspect, and achieved Gartner’s Winners Circle in 2017. This led to my promotion as Account Executive (AE) in 2018 and my most recent promotion as Anchor Account Executive helping to pilot our brand-new High-Tech Micro Accounts Channel.
My role as an AE in our Micro Channel focuses solely on managing client accounts, under $5 million in revenue, that provide various technology and services to several different industries. This role involves providing an exceptional level of service to my clients, consistently educating them on how to work with Gartner for help with their key initiatives and renewing and growing their investment with Gartner. Building trust-based relationships and providing exceptional service delivery to clients has always been my strongest area in the Account Manager/Executive role at Gartner. This is no surprise as to why being an AE in our Micro Channel has been my favorite experience in my journey at Gartner, thus far. My team, and a large part of the channel, is relatively new, so I am fortunate to also have the opportunity to be more of a mentor at Gartner. Getting to be a part of the early success of this channel and my team has been the best aspect of this experience. Last quarter, the Micro Channel achieved the No. 1 global top achiever region, in just three months of existence. I am always inspired to work alongside colleagues who feel like family and under a leadership that truly cares about its people.
