Are you interested in joining Gartner’s growing team in Gurgaon, India? Below, Shivangi Jain, Client Partner on our services team, shares her career story and how she has been able to grow at Gartner in our Gurgaon Center of Excellence.
I joined Gartner a little more than 3 years ago as a coordinator to a freshly formed Products & Services Operations team. Being one of the seven members on the team, I knew there were a lot of opportunities for me to grow. Today, the team consists of almost 200 people and will continue to expand. Like any other organization, there were challenges that I faced as I learned about my role, the organization and our overall culture. But there’s one thing that Gartner has always taught me: Seek challenges as opportunities and not hurdles!
To bring the “opportunities, not challenges” philosophy into existence in my work, my team and my leaders have always given me enough space to play around with these challenges and have paved a path for the opportunities. After working as a coordinator for just over a year, I was promoted to Associate Services Business Analyst and was introduced to a new set of projects to explore and work on. It gave me insight into the Services organization and how we can help the team drive engagement and better retention. As a small team of five initially, we were able to make a demonstrable impact with our work and prove remarkable success. Following that, I got another opportunity in the Services organization as an Associate Client Partner in the India Center of Excellence.
I have always been interested in knowing and developing connections with people around me, and Gartner has provided me that opportunity. I was fascinated with the employee-friendly culture here. What I love about Gartner is that there’s something new to learn every day, which keeps the momentum going. Since starting, I’ve had the opportunity to meet several associates who have spent a better part of their lives at Gartner, exploring and learning different roles by excelling in their current profile.
For me, coming to the office is not a 9-to-5 thing at all — rather, it is connecting with people and living a major part of your day by working and having fun at the same time. During my 3 years at Gartner, I’ve learned so much and I know I’m just getting started. There’s so much more to learn and the possibilities here are endless.
