I started my Gartner journey in 2015 as an Account Executive on the sales team in the Netherlands. What had originally drew me to the organization? Gartner is a global organization where the people come first. Coming from a vendor background, I was impressed to be able to connect with C-level clients and actually work with them to make an impact on their business decisions. In my role at Gartner, I get to help my clients make informed, strategic business decisions by using insights, research and analysis. Being able to truly make a difference with my work gives me great satisfaction.

After two successful years in my role, I was promoted to Senior Account Executive. Working at Gartner has given me the opportunity to grow personally as well as professionally. I’ve developed different skill sets and learned a lot about how an IT organization functions and contributes to achieving the mission-critical priorities of our clients, leading me to become a better sales professional. Last year, I managed to achieve Winners Circle towards the end of May and welcomed a baby in July.

The growth opportunities at Gartner are truly unparalleled. Before I left for maternity leave, I met with my management team and HR to speak about career progression and growth. After three years of being an individual contributor, I wanted to manage and coach a team towards success. As of the beginning of 2019, I have achieved my next career milestone of managing a team of fantastic associates. Our high-performance culture keeps our teams motivated, allowing for associates to develop themselves and be successful without setting unrealistic expectations, something that is unique to Gartner. There are a lot of companies that claim they place their sales organizations at the heart of the company, but I have never come across one that really does it in the way in which Gartner does.
