In 2014, Amber joined Gartner as a Client Partner. From our sunny Fort Myers office, she was supporting IT clients in the mature Philadelphia and Pittsburgh markets. After consistent high performance and continued success in her role, she was quickly nominated to serve as a mentor to junior associates. During this time, she was able to participate in several technology pilots as Gartner’s Client Services organization looked to enhance various processes and innovated partnerships. “The opportunity of working with such a high-performing team at such a critical inflection point gave me the chance to learn what great looked like from the start, and was a superb foundation to my career,” says Amber.
After two years of success in her Client Partner role, Amber decided to seek out other opportunities to further her growth at Gartner. In March 2016, she started as a Leadership Client Manager supporting several premium supply chain clients. Once again, Amber found herself mentoring her peers. “It quickly became evident that the best part of my day was helping others grow and achieve their own career goals,” says Amber about her natural inclination to help and lead others. As she continued to help her colleagues, she was able to participate in and complete Gartner’s Manager Preparation Program for the Client Services organization. This program is designed to give associates the skill sets they need to take on leadership positions, and focuses heavily on professional development.
After being promoted to Area Manager for the Gartner for Sales Leaders service team in March 2018, Amber was able to put her leadership skills to use and make a positive impact on the careers of others. As July 2018 rolled around, she was given the opportunity to begin a new role, as a GBS Services Manager for the Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Finance practices in our Egham office.
What has Amber loved most about her four years at Gartner? “In this organization, we have a tremendous opportunity to impact our clients; the big picture has always filled me with a sense of pride,” she says. Through hard work and willingness to take on more and more responsibility, Amber’s career has evolved during her time at Gartner as she worked her way toward a management position.
“Gartner’s core values align so closely with my own values and goals,” and this, Amber says, is the reason she has “grown as both a professional and a person at Gartner.” Amber’s ability to embrace challenges as opportunities is a perfect example of how we can all grow without limits at Gartner.
