Job Title: Account Manager, DACH

University: University of Manchester

Location: Egham, U.K.

Describe your job in 25 words or less: I act as a midpoint between existing and new clients, their challenges and Gartner resources to ensure we are adding incremental value to them.

What originally attracted you to Gartner? When I was approached by Gartner, I had no real intention of joining the business. I was doing well in my current role and was happy where I was. After having a few discussions with Gartner, I was definitely attracted to the brand. It is a brand that is synonymous with expertise, with a very forward-thinking approach. Gartner is an industry leader that identifies trends before anyone else and this was something very attractive to me.

What is your favorite part about working for Gartner? My favorite part is that every day can be different. In interactions with clients, I cover so many different spaces. I could be talking about self-driving cars with one client to supply chain management with another. I really enjoy the diversity of my role.

How has Gartner helped you in your career development? Gartner has helped me improve my business acumen, greatly. It has also helped me improve my confidence with and conviction in what I discuss with clients.Eoin group photo

What are 3 words that best describe Gartner? Demanding, trusting, rewarding.

What advice would you give to recent new hires? Get comfortable being uncomfortable. Make mistakes and learn from them (don’t make them twice). There are high-caliber people around you, engage with them and ask for help.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive), who would it be and why? Conor McGregor — because I want to understand from him, how he manages to consistently set himself goals that others would disregard as being unachievable and works tirelessly to achieve them.

What are 3 words that best describe you? Driven, caring, accountable.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Sri Lanka. Who doesn’t like having great food every day?

Favorite quote or personal mantra: Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.
