meha_headshotName: Meha Chakrabarti

University: University of Delhi, GGSIP University

Job Title: Senior Researcher, SRS, RDA

Office Location: Gurugram, India

Describe your job in 25 words or less: We support Gartner analysts with fact-based evidence for published research and events. My team works on topics like artificial intelligence, blockchain, security, digital workplace, etc.

What originally attracted you to Gartner? First and foremost, the Gartner brand name! Followed by the good feedback I had heard from some of my ex-colleagues working at the company, and the kind and courteous manner in which HR conducted the entire recruiting process.

What is your favorite part about working for Gartner? I get to read about emerging technologies almost every day, interact directly with leading analysts, get to know about strategic trends even before they get published and work with an awesome team.

What are 3 words that best describe Gartner? Growing, flexible and inclusive.

diwali celebrationsWhat are 3 career lessons you’ve learned while at Gartner?

  1. Remain positive — positivity attracts better outcomes.
  2. Seek advice from experienced people in the system and people whose values you admire.
  3. Have patience, a few good things take their own time.

What advice would you give to recent new hires? Take your time to understand Gartner, ask as many questions as you can, seek the greatest minds to answer your questions, look around to see what everyone is working on.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and why? Mother Teresa. Although there is so much that has been said in books, films and documentaries already, I would still want to know what makes someone so persistent, selfless and giving, to leave one’s own country and family and work for the greater good.

If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it? “Curiouser and curiouser”, credit for coining this phrase goes to Lewis Carroll.

What are 3 words that best describe you? Honest, friendly and a traveler.

Favorite Quote or Personal Mantra: I will borrow this one from Gene Hall. “Do the right thing!”
