University: Duke University

Job Title: Business Associate, Client Services Rotational Program

Office Location: Fort Myers, FL

Describe your job in 25 words or less: Providing data-based insights to senior leadership within the Client Services organization and identifying innovations to drive improvements in retention uplift using quantitative models.

Why did you choose to apply to Gartner Client Services Rotational Program? For the continuous learning and development opportunities, to have the chance to make real business impact and contribute to the overall success of the company and to hone in on my operations/analytical skills. The client-facing exposure is great as well!

Now that you are in your second rotation, could you briefly describe what your current responsibilities are as a Client Value Manager? I support renewals for Gartner for IT Leaders and Gartner for Technical Professional accounts. I am able to capture the value received by our clients in order to build a business case for renewal. By partnering with internal stakeholders on shared accounts, I am able to strategize and mitigate risk. By collaborating with our counterparts in India, we are able to further coach them on analysis and account management.

What was your experience like transition from your first rotation into a client facing role? The transition to my second rotation was smooth, as there were a lot of resources at Gartner that helped me with it. I attended workshops and internal training sessions to revise the conversation style and to understand how to communicate Gartner’s value proposition. The knowledge that I obtained in my previous rotation combined with my Operations background helped me immensely to connect the dots and exactly know what my role as a service partner was going to be.

After shadowing a number of calls, I have started practicing role plays with other people from my team. This will help me be prepared with different talk tracks and know how to extract useful information based on how the clients are responding.
