Describe your job in 25 words or less: My job is to help technology vendors in the DACH region to grow their business by leveraging Gartner’s tech-related insights in order to help them better understand their market needs and opportunities.
What originally attracted you to Gartner? Before joining Gartner, I knew of the company, as two of my school friends worked here already. I saw how quickly they were progressing and how much exposure they were getting to C-level executives. The decision to join Gartner was a no-brainer.
How has Gartner helped you in your career development? Gartner has helped me in climbing the ladder and working toward management. This truly is a company that will reward progress over tenure. If you are successful in your role, you will be rewarded! I have also picked up some really good presentation skills, which has helped me both internally and externally. It has also opened my eyes in terms of learning how to communicate to so many different types of people. These are all useful, transferable skills.
What has been your proudest moment at Gartner? My proudest moment was qualifying for winners circle in Q3! I’ll be going to Monte Carlo later in the year!
What advice would you give to recent new hires? Listen to everything and everyone and be able to take constructive feedback.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and why? Quentin Blake, because I would really love to learn how to draw my thoughts.
If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it? Channeling a Cat. Because everybody wants to be a cat!
What is one thing unique about you that people would be surprised if they knew? I ate a bbq’d bat.
