Why did you choose Gartner? When I joined Gartner in 2012, I was really impressed with the people I met through the interview process. They really did go the extra mile to understand me and what I was looking for. They provided an in-depth view of the organization so I could make a balanced decision on whether it was the right place for me.

What was your first role at Gartner? I started out as a recruiter in the HR team.

How long have you worked at Gartner? Five and a half years which is, to date, the longest period I’ve worked at the same company.

Describe your best employee. What unique qualities does he/she possess that makes them stand out? Very hard-working, thoughtful, g oal-oriented, likeable, very determined and tenacious.

When interviewing a candidate, what are 3 things you look for? Someone who is clearly driven to succeed, intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to learn and develop the skills they have.

Share a success story about your team: My team manages and sells Gartner’s largest summit in Europe. This year each member of the team worked tirelessly to help deliver an exceptional experience for our clients and I’m pleased to say were rewarded with outstanding renewal results.

Describe your management style: My aim is to deliver a supportive coaching style of management, whereby everyone in the team has access to the advice and guidance that will help them be successful in their role, exceed their goals and be in a position to further their careers.

What advice do you have for members of your team, or someone considering joining your team? Whether you’re thinking of applying or have already secured the job, you need to carefully consider what you’re aiming to achieve and what you think it will take to achieve it. Whatever your goals are, you can be sure it will require a lot of hard work, dedication, resilience and patience to get there. Typically, but not always, it is those individuals who are most committed to achieving their goals, who take a long-term view, who are most successful in achieving their objectives.

Why would a prospective candidate want to join your team? My team builds strategic relationships with business leaders at many of the largest and fastest growing technology organizations in the world. This is a fast-moving, commercially driven enterprise sales role, where you as an individual are the master of your destiny. Each person has access to all the tools & training needed to be very successful in their roles. People have a multitude of paths available for a long-term career at Gartner and the opportunity to accelerate their careers to greater heights.
