Describe your team in 25 words or less: My team is incredibly supportive of each other and 100% dedicated to each client. They’re definitely ready to go above and beyond at any opportunity.

Why did you choose Gartner? I carefully researched Gartner before applying for a role and was pleasantly surprised by all of the excellent employee reviews, but more impressed by the reputation Gartner holds in the industry and by the growth the company makes every year. I thought to myself, I want to be part of that. I was sold!


What was your first role at Gartner? Marketing Program Manager within the Services department.

How long have you worked at Gartner? I’ve been at Gartner for 6 months now.

What makes Gartner a great place to work? Gartner is such a vibrant place to work, with an eclectic mix of people. Working at Gartner exposes you to so many lovely people from different parts of the world and I’ve been blessed to make friends with people who I wouldn’t necessarily meet in other walks of life. There’s so much room to progress professionally. If you work hard, recognition will certainly follow. The company also has a generous benefits scheme to prove that you are a valued employee.

Describe yourself in 3 words: Passionate, innovative and bold!

Share a fun fact about yourself: I’m not a great swimmer but have set myself the goal of learning to dive. This should be interesting.

Describe your best employee. What unique qualities does he/she possess that makes them stand out? My best employee is definitely my mentor (Dimple Varambhia). From the day I joined Gartner she has been incredibly supportive and forthcoming with help. She’s literally the best mentor you could ask for. She doesn’t hide tips and best practices; she shares everything willingly and openly with the aim to push me to achieve my full potential. There’s no such thing as asking too many questions or stupid questions — she encourages this as the best way of learning. She’s the definition of client-focused and because of that she’s been a consistent top performer and has formed strong relationships with every single client. I can only hope to emulate this in the future.

When interviewing a candidate, what are 3 things you look for? Passion- I want to know they are passionate about what the role and not just here for the paycheck. Works well under pressure- Isn’t fazed by conflicting priorities or demands. Problem-solving- They have the ability to confidently offer suggestions that could essentially solve problems. Gartner is all about change and I think this is a good trait to bring to the company. Jane Team

What role does your team play in Gartner’s success? Gartner is well-known for its research offerings. Our clients use Gartner research as assets to promote within their marketing campaigns, to solve challenges for their customers and to meet their mission-critical priorities. Our team allows our clients to achieve all of these things through understanding their key initiatives and ensuring that they are receiving value for their money. When our clients recognize the value they receive from our service, they are happy to continue to grow with Gartner.

What are 3 main functions or job duties of your employees? Being organized. We speak to a number of clients on a daily basis who all have different priorities, and the only way to stay abreast is to organize your days efficiently. Compliance. We ensure that clients are promoting Gartner assets in line with our guidelines, so it’s very important to know the policies and communicate them to every client so they can remain compliant. Listening & communicating effectively. In order to know how to best support each client we need to understand that each client has different goals they’d like to achieve. It’s important to really listen to what they are telling you, in order to align the right resources and offer the most suitable support.

What advice do you have for members of your team, or someone considering joining your team? Don’t be afraid to apply if you aren’t from a marketing background. Gartner provides you with background training and you learn so much from the marketing professionals you encounter every day. Your knowledge and confidence will grow with every encounter. Also, my colleagues have been very supportive and always reinforce the fact that I should never be afraid to ask questions.
