Title: New Client Engagement Specialist

Office Location: Fort Myers, FL

Describe your job in 25 words or less: As an NCE specialist, I get to unwrap a new world of resources and possibilities with our new clients from all over the world.

What is your favorite part about working for Gartner? We can pretty much help everyone, everywhere, at any given time.

If you have been at Gartner for over 5 years, what has made you stay at Gartner so long? My teammates.

What advice do you have for prospective Gartner candidates? Do your homework and come in prepared. If you really want in, say so and be prepared to elaborate on the reasons.

What are 3 words that best describe Gartner? Intensity, collaboration and results.

What has been your proudest moment at Gartner? The time I helped a client (an NGO IT executive) realize it was really important to adopt a solid cloud migration strategy. She was very lost.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most? I get the opportunity to interact with Services/Sales associates from all over the world and clients from multiple backgrounds, and I also get insight into every single product Gartner has.

What are 3 career lessons you’ve learned while at Gartner?

  • Be friendly to everybody, yet let no one stop you from being the best at the job you’re doing.
  • It’s amazing to work with people who are extremely smart. Surrounding yourself with bright minds will eventually get some of their knowledge splashed onto you.
  • Learn every day.

What advice would you give to recent new hires? If you follow established best practices and always keep an eye out for process improvement opportunities, you’ll go further.

If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and why? Marcus Aurelius, the Roman emperor. I want to pick his brain about self-improving ideas and stoic theories.

If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it? Travelling the world with a smile, goals and tea.

What are 3 words that best describe you? Intensity, positivity and simplicity.

What is one thing unique about you that people would be surprised if they knew? I’ve been awarded 3 scholarships and lived in 4 different countries so far.

If you could switch your job with anyone else within Gartner whose job would you want and why? Any EP/LP. Drafting plans and strategies, travelling to visit important clients and attending world conferences while being on top of everything that is current in the IT world? Where do I sign up?

Favorite Quote or Personal Mantra: “Some things are in our control and others not. Things in our control are opinion, pursuit, desire, aversion, and, in a word, whatever are our own actions. Things not in our control are body, property, reputation, command, and, in one word, whatever are not our own actions.” – Epictetus
