Once a month, the Gartner office in Brussels hosts a lunch to bring all Belgian associates together in a relaxed setting to get to know their colleagues a little better. For one of their more recent lunches, Koen Van Lierde, Els Tobac and Marc Kindermans decided to make the gathering even more meaningful by using it to support a local charity.

Matching donations

Koen, Els and Marc treated everyone to lunch from a local Mexican restaurant and asked all attendees to make a €5 donation to the charity — promising to match each one. In addition, area manager Alexander Fattoruso and consultants Herman Greeve, Peter Vranckx, along with Peter’s son Stan, provided live musical entertainment.

The group raised €600 for NASCI, an independent organization that helps disadvantaged local children and their families, strongly believing that every child has the right to a good upbringing and a decent start in life.

Car loads of clothes

In addition to the money raised, the group also collected three car loads of children’s clothes, toys and other items many disadvantaged families struggle to afford and delivered them to NASCI.

els-circle-3“Organizing the lunch was a nice experience but the one thing that impressed me most is how energized my colleagues were to donate toys and clothes for a good cause,” commented Els.
