What originally attracted you to Gartner? The ability to learn on a daily basis and be surrounded by young professionals who are ambitious, driven and think outside of the box. I enjoy solving problems and easing the state of tension, and Gartner allows me to solve problems of C-level executives, which is an amazing feeling. Lastly, the unlimited mindset that results in the unlimited opportunities is what motivates me to keep pushing for excellence.
Who has been a mentor for you here at Gartner? How have they helped you? The great thing about Gartner is that I am surrounded by great minds from people who have strong emotional intelligence, who creatively solve problems and managers who motivate me to believe in myself even in tough times. Therefore, I’ve been lucky enough to have a few great mentors such as Paolo Rasi (manager), who always supports me and thinks of ways to deliver value to prospects and clients; Lara Marchesi (official mentor & friend), who keeps me motivated in any situation and is fantastic in role-playing every call and who loves throwing objections at me to get me ready; and Sander De Hoogh & Barbara Spada, who are my internal champions who push me to achieve what I think I can’t.
What is your favorite part about working for Gartner? The people. I enjoy learning from the people around me, absorbing different thoughts, and ideas. Lastly, the diversity you have at Gartner is just amazing and allows me to grow as an individual.
What advice do you have for prospective Gartner candidates? When I was a Gartner intern a manager told me “Be a sponge.” That is exactly what I would advise a candidate interviewing, interning or a full-time employee. You will learn every day if you have an open mind and will be able to grow professionally & personally at a fast pace.
What has been your proudest moment at Gartner? Being ranked No. 1 Account Executive on the floor for activity.
What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most? When I can interact with ambitious clients/prospects and they are engaged and want to utilize Gartner and are open to my suggestions and see me as one of them and a part of their company.
What are 3 career lessons you’ve learned while at Gartner?
- Patience is needed in B2B sales.
- It’s about your network, not net worth (ask for help).
- Always ask “Why?”
What advice would you give to recent new hires? Be curious!
If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it? I did it my way & just hoped for the best.
What are 3 words that best describe you? Energetic, emotionally intelligent & bold.
What is one thing unique about you that people would be surprised if they knew? I’d consider myself not tech savvy and I hate frogs.
If you could switch your job with anyone else within Gartner whose job would you want and why? Sales Training because I like to have an impact on an individual’s life and also, utilize my emotional intelligence to the fullest and adapt to different personalities and learn from others.
