What’s your Gartner work history? I joined Gartner and my family relocated to Stamford in 2010 through the acquisition of AMR Research, where I had been since 2001. In my time at Gartner, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to serve in multiple field sales management and operations roles. Currently, I’m fortunate to lead our Global Sales and Events Recruiting group. Our charter within Sales Recruiting is to ensure we’re growing quota-bearing head count at the rate the company needs. Most importantly, our primary responsibility is to cultivate, source and recruit only the most qualified talent so that our new hire productivity continues to improve. Our sourcing and recruiting teams work closely with hiring managers to ensure that only the best sales talent is hired into our Global Technology Sales, Global Business Sales and Events Sales organizations. Our recruiters and sourcers are among the finest at their craft in the industry; the precision and care with which they operate is world class, and we continue to innovate and improve as we move forward.
What’s your connection to the military? Upon my graduation from West Point and commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, I branched into military intelligence, serving in the 25th Infantry Division. In the 25th Infantry Division, U.S. Army Pacific, I held multiple tactical intelligence roles ranging from Battalion Intelligence Officer to Intelligence and Surveillance Platoon Leader — leading a motivated platoon of counterintelligence, interrogation and ground surveillance radar soldiers in locations around the world. The soldiers and officers I had the privilege of working with were among the proudest and most inspirational people I’ve ever met.
How do you see veterans impacting Gartner? Veterans bring loyalty, leadership, integrity, perseverance, confidence in working under pressure, the ability to think and act quickly — and we always put the team first. This impact is exactly what Gartner looks for as we add talent to our growing ranks; veteran characteristics dovetail perfectly with the Gartner traits of success.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give a veteran applying to or working at Gartner? While applying to Gartner, make sure to concurrently reach out and speak with any of our growing number of veterans to ensure proper translation of military experiences and skills into what Gartner is seeking. Gartner’s talent mission is to hire the best of the best, and that is exactly what veterans continue to bring to us.
Role: Sr. Practice Support Analyst, CEB

What’s your Gartner work history? I’ve been at Heritage CEB for five years. I joined the company as a Commercial Coordinator (formerly known as Account Administrator) and transitioned a year later to the PSA role, where I now support three commercial teams with operations, analytics and administration.
What’s your connection to the military? My husband is a USMC Osprey pilot and we are currently stationed at MCAS Camp Pendleton.
How do you see veterans impacting Gartner? Being a military spouse, I’ll actually twist this question a bit to speak to the impact military spouses bring. I’ve had the privilege of meeting spouses in two different squadrons (so far) and these groups of individuals are truly the quiet champions. From a skill set perspective, spouses are highly adaptable and flexible, they are resourceful, and they thrive under pressure and uncertain circumstances. Military spouses bring with them an extensive network and there are countless organized groups within the spousal community that are directly geared at helping them find employment opportunities. If we can tap into those networks, I’d bet big that we would find a lot of great talent to add to our roster.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give a veteran applying to or working at Gartner? Speaking to the military spouse community, be confident in your abilities! Even if you have gaps in your career because of relocations, your professional experience and volunteer experience can translate to the skills that match job opportunities here. And the people at CEB, Now Gartner are some of the most supportive people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with — you’ll feel right at home!

What’s your connection to the military? Nine years in the British Army as a Royal Corps of Signals Captain.
How do you see veterans impacting Gartner? The core values of the military are almost identical to those at Gartner. Veterans are uniquely placed to embed those core values in the actions of associates.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give a veteran applying to or working at Gartner? Don’t be afraid to fail. Veterans understand that no plan survives contact with the enemy, so maintain sight of your objective and keep reiterating until you get there.

Describe your job in 25 words or less: I align Gartner resources to the initiatives my clients are executing.
How has your military background helped you excel in your current career? The mission mindset I’ve obtained from the military has been very helpful in my transition into this new career. Within this mindset are characteristics including collaboration, consistent discipline, prioritization, integrity, and persistence.
What originally attracted you to Gartner? The caliber of people at Gartner isn’t anything I’ve seen since being a Cadet at West Point. EVERYONE is smart and driven. There is explosive growth and opportunity (CEB acquisition), as well as a work-life balance I’ve never had before. Plus, IT is the future and Gartner is postured phenomenally to continue to advance in the market as the leader in its research/advisory capacity.
What is your favorite part about working for Gartner? I like managing my own clients (all Federal). Gartner gives you the tools to be successful, and then you are able to use your own techniques to add value to the client and innovate as you see opportunity.
What advice would you give to recent new hires? Be humble. Ask questions. Redeem all of the time you have at work — work hard, build relationships, and never stop being creative or trying new ways to “make things happen.”
