Describe your job in 25 words or less: I help tech vendors identify gaps in their current strategy and align them with the resources necessary to fill those gaps and achieve their goals.
What is your favorite part about working for Gartner in Fort Myers, FL? My favorite part about working in Fort Myers is having the beach just 10 minutes away. Spending the weekend boating and fishing is tough to beat, in my opinion.
How has Gartner helped you in your career development? Gartner focuses largely on professional development and helps its employees reach the next step in their career path. It is very evident that if you are succeeding in your role, doors for upward mobility will open for you. Beyond that, Gartner will help prepare you for that next interview/step within the company. There are “field readiness” programs for those interested in moving to field sales and separate programs to prepare individuals for a role in management.
What advice do you have for prospective Gartner candidates? Take a deep breath and have confidence throughout the interview process. Gartner hires based on traits, not purely experience, so it is important to approach the interviews confidently and with an open mind.
Implement any and all feedback, and if you aren’t given any, ask for it. Getting feedback is the only way to improve, and coachability is key.

Describe the culture at Gartner: The culture at Gartner is both extremely collaborative and competitive. As in any sales role, there is a competitive nature to sell the most and be at the top of the stacks, but Gartner has created a culture that makes you happy for the success of those around you, because in most cases it was a team effort to get the sale closed. At Gartner, there is a huge focus on teamwork, and I think that’s what makes the culture second to none.
What makes your team the best one to join? My team is the best to join because it is a group of motivated, bright individuals who have a great sense of humor. Some days can be stressful in this role, so it is great to have a team and manager that are focused on business, but also know the importance of having fun.
What advice would you give to recent new hires for Sales at Gartner? Use your resources. If you have questions, ask. There are dozens of individuals in training and on the sales floor that you can be utilizing to get questions answered and to better understand how to be successful. Shadow successful salespeople. In my experience, the best way to connect all of the dots from training was to hear it happen live.

What is one thing unique about you that people would be surprised if they knew? I spend a lot of my free time baking cookies, cakes, brownies and other sweets. It’s something I’ve been interested in since I was a young child.
