What was your first role at Gartner? I had a contractor position with the data team in EAS.
How long have you worked at Gartner? 6.5 years unofficially — 5 years officially.

Share a fun fact about yourself: In a previous life, I was a private investigator.
Describe your best employee. What unique qualities does he/she possess that makes them stand out? Honestly I’m not sure if I can pick one member from my team and consider them the best. They all have their own things that they bring to the team to make us who we are. The ones that are the top performers are focused every day they come into the office. They are determined to get clients on the phone, set meetings and sell events. They are also collaborative and not afraid to ask questions. If they don’t know something, they will ask their neighbor or come over and ask me for help.
When interviewing a candidate, what are 3 things you look for? Drive, competitiveness and coachability.
Describe your management style: I would describe my management style as open. My team knows that they can come to me with anything, whether it is work-related or home-related, and I will be there for them. When it comes to coaching my team, I put a positive spin on it. I don’t want them to feel like they are being talked down to or that they are doing things wrong.
What role does your team play in Gartner’s success? My team has a huge impact on Gartner’s success. We are driving the right people to the right events and, in turn, the Account Executives are able to close research contracts based on their experience of what Gartner has to offer.
Why would a prospective candidate want to join your team? They would want to join my team because we are competitive yet collaborative. One minute we are trying to get more registrations than someone else and the next minute we are asking the No. 1 person on the team what they are doing to help them be successful. Also, we are a fun team. Our motto is work hard, play hard. We are getting the job done and hitting our numbers so we celebrate those wins, whether they are mini or huge.
