Job Title: Area Manager
Office Location: Warsaw, Poland
What motivated you to join Gartner? The most exciting moments in my career happened when my team was really convinced that the services we provide are impacting customer business and helping to achieve their objectives. I truly believe that Gartner is a fantastic place for people full of passion for delivering value to the market. Moreover, what a view we have from our Warsaw office!
What vision do you have for your role, your team and clients in Poland? The Polish market has fantastic growth potential, so there’s a lot of important IT decisions to be made! Gartner can help customers make better choices, based on facts, best practices and industry leaders’ knowledge.
We plan to expand our presence in Poland, making Gartner available for an even-broader market. In order to do it, we will have to maintain a strong, consistent team with a great drive for excellence. I hope it will be an interesting time that turns every working day into an exciting adventure!
How did you find the interview process? Definitely the best and the most exciting hiring process in my entire career, although demanding. I was very pleasantly surprised that all interviewers were clear about the company values, key challenges and objectives of the role. The company strategy was well communicated.
What are your personal values as a sales leader, and how do they connect to Gartner and your Area Manager role? Integrity would be my most important value. It takes years to build a reputation for integrity but just seconds to lose, by over-promising or under-delivering. I’m sure you will agree how important integrity is in sales and delivery, as well as within the team you manage. I believe that most effective teams and client engagements are built on trust.
Tell us more about your management style: I feel really lucky to inherit a fantastic team, full of passion for customer success. Most of the people are very self-driven and objective-oriented, and they will certainly benefit from their freedom to shape their customer engagements! I’d like to encourage sharing best practices and bridging our local team to our regional and global colleagues. I hope that we can continuously share feedback of what is working well and what could we improve.
What advice do you have for members of your team, or someone considering joining your team? Think of your key values as a professional and a team player. How would those values fit into the Gartner environment, and how can you strengthen those values?
Why would a prospective candidate want to join your team? Our team is working on an emerging market — that means a lot of fun and positive challenges! He or she will have a chance to work with bright professionals and get access to the best knowledge base in the world. There are a lot of growth opportunities here!
How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Curious, energetic, dry sense of humor.
What’s a fun fact about you? One day my friend asked me to join a rockabilly band — only for a moment to help them with a rhythm guitar. A few months later the singer left, so I replaced him. We became a pretty well-known Polish band and starred in a popular TV show!
