Describe your team in 25 words or less: Recruiting for Gartner Digital Markets is fast-paced and exciting. I get to build progressive teams on the forefront of the digital world!
What originally attracted you to Gartner? I started at Software Advice before it was acquired by Gartner in March of 2014. I really lucked out with getting the best of both worlds when we were acquired. With Gartner Digital Markets, I get to work with smaller companies that experience a ton of growth and progression, backed by an industry leader. I love my role here because the digital markets group is the one of the fastest-growing divisions of Gartner, and we’re going through some really exciting times. I’m highly optimistic and look forward to what the future holds!
How has Gartner helped you in your career development? The leadership on the recruiting team is top notch. They are truly experts in talent acquisition, and I’ve learned more in my experience working with them than in my collective years prior. They are invested, supportive and just as ambitious as I am.
What advice do you have for prospective Gartner candidates? Network! Reach out to Gartner associates and educate yourself. Talk to people who have the jobs you want. It’s the best leverage you can use to position yourself for the future.
What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most? I love partnering with business leaders and being looked at as a trusted expert on talent acquisition. I also enjoy offering jobs and seeing new associates grow in their roles. It’s unbelievably rewarding!
What are 3 career lessons you’ve learned while at Gartner?
- Be humble, confident and always do your best.
- What got you here, won’t get you there.
- Your career is what you make of it, not what’s handed to you.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and why? Barbara Walters. I’d like to hear her story of how she overcame adversity in such a male-dominated industry during the 1970’s. I’d probably ask for a few “interviewer” tips for myself.
What are 3 words that best describe you? Passionate, open and curious.
What is one thing unique about you that people would be surprised if they knew? I’m an avid yogi and enjoy studying meditation and the science of the mind, then translating those principles to be a more productive and mindful person in the workplace and in my personal life.
