Ian Puddy Recognized Among Top Global Sourcing Advisors

Gartner Consulting VP honored for his industry experience

ian-profileIan Puddy, VP, Gartner Consulting, was recently named to Global Sourcing Advisors (GSA) A List — an international list of more than 50 sourcing thought leaders, influencers and practitioners, nominated by those they’ve inspired from across the industry. From evangelists and academics, to international presidents, the A List serves to recognize those who have made exceptional contributions to the positive reputation of sourcing over the past 12 months. These are the genuine trailblazers whose success is derived from their incredible efforts and achievements in the global sourcing industry, regardless of brand, budget or organization size.

Ian joined Gartner in 2001 and he has more than 30 years of IT-related industry experience, much of which has been gained while living and working across Europe. Global Sourcing Advisors praised Ian’s experience in the industry, assisting major manufacturers with their global outsourcing.

Here are some excerpts from Ian’s Q&A with GSA:

What has been your biggest sourcing-related success within the past 12 months?
Assisting a European manufacturer operating across more than 120 countries to re-compete its outsourcing globally.

How do you think the outsourcing industry will change over the next 10 years?
More industrialization and use of robotics/cognitive computing to support end users.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that is not widely known.
In parallel to my working career I have also spent over 40 years as an officer in the U.K. reserve forces.
