Office Location: Singapore
Describe your job in 25 words or less: I lead a regional team of service associates who ensure that our clients maximize the value of their investment in Gartner services.
What originally attracted you to Gartner? I joined Gartner through the META Group acquisition. When I was with META, I used to compete with Gartner and therefore was really excited when offered the opportunity to join the market leader.
Who has been a mentor for you here at Gartner? How have they helped you? My former manager in META Group, Mary Ann Maxwell, and my current manager, Rick Jackson. Both are successful leaders and experienced coaches to whom I owe my personal and professional development in Gartner.
What is your favorite part about working for Gartner? I love the Gartner culture and our people. I feel very privileged to work with such great talents who embrace the sharing culture.
How has Gartner helped you in your career development? I was in a sales role in META for 4 years before Gartner took over. With the acquisition in May 2005, I became the Country Manager for Gartner Malaysia and led the sales team for 2.5 years. In late 2007, I was offered the role of Regional Director to lead the NCE & CP Group for APAC. It was a big change for me, transitioning to a regional management role, and it also meant I had to relocate to Singapore. Since then, the global exposure has greatly benefited my personal and professional development. In April 2012, I was promoted to Area Vice President and am now responsible for a team of 19 associates, located across Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.

What are 3 career lessons you’ve learned while at Gartner? Know the right things to do, balancing the demands of our business and our people. Prioritize the problems that deliver the greatest economic benefit if solved. Change is part of continuous improvement.
