Gartner VP and Distinguished Analyst Avivah Litan was recently named by BankInfoSecurity as one of its Top 10 Influencers in Banking Information Security for 2016. This is BankInfoSecurity’s fourth annual list of top influencers, recognizing leaders who are playing significant roles in shaping the way banking institutions approach information security.
We want to congratulate Avivah who earned the number two spot on the list, based on her insights, initiative and impact:
“Banking Executives look to Litan for her insights on banking fraud, cybersecurity and emerging banking and payments technology. She was among the first to call attention to the growing trend of DDoS attacks tied to extortion. She also has been outspoken about the need to get away from knowledge-based authentication in the wake of massive data breaches that have exposed personally identifiable information about thousands of consumers, calling instead for the use of biometrics and behavioral analytics.”
“As a recognized industry expert on fraud prevention, Avivah Litan, is constantly being interviewed by industry news publications to provide commentary on security issues,” commented Mark
Nicolett, Managing VP, Research at Gartner and Avivah’s manager. “Her high
public profile has enhanced the Gartner brand.”
