What originally attracted you to Gartner?

Gartner has a really strong brand and great reputation, which was an important factor when joining Gartner Consulting. However, what really attracted me to this job was the possibility to really do fact-based and data-driven consulting, leveraging the unparalleled research and benchmark assets of Gartner. Gartner is also growing rapidly, so it was a great time to join Gartner.
How has Gartner helped you in your career development?

The biggest thing for me has been the freedom to grow professionally. I have been given freedom to take on more responsibility and a possibility to succeed. I’ve had the opportunity to learn from great colleagues, who are always there to help and making sure that you have everything you need to succeed in your projects.

What advice do you have for prospective Gartner candidates?

Now is a great time to join Gartner! Gartner is growing rapidly and there are a lot of opportunities to grow and develop. View Gartner’s recent statistics on growth.

What advice would you give to recent new hires?

Once at Gartner you have the opportunity to utilize our truly global network of experts, not only in consulting but also in research and other areas of Gartner as well. I was surprised how easy it is to get help from colleagues across the globe. So reach out and leverage the assets and the tacit knowledge available.

If you could switch your job with anyone else within Gartner,
whose job would you want and why?

Peter Sondergaard, SVP Research – It would be interesting to see the research side of Gartner from the top. It would also be a great experience to give the keynote presentation at Gartner Symposium.
