Name: Jen Kantardjian

University: University of Tampa (BS), Fairleigh Dickinson University (MAS)

Business Unit: Consulting / Benchmark Analytics

Why do you like working at Gartner?
We are truly a team here at Gartner and everyone has a seat at the table with our clients – from the newly-hired consultants to the seasoned managing partners. We are respected and valued for the unique contributions we each bring, and are given numerous opportunities to showcase that value and grow within Gartner.

What advice do you have for someone just starting out in Consulting / Benchmark Analytics?

First, take advantage of every resource you have available here and there are a lot of resources! By leveraging your access to top research and top minds, you’ll gain more knowledge than you ever thought possible. And the best part: it never stops! There is always something new, something more you can learn.

Second, don’t forget to breathe! It’s an exciting, fast pace environment, so it’s important to pause and recharge once in a while in order to stay at your best and therefore do your best. A 15 minute coffee break can feel as beneficial as a week’s vacation…although those are nice too!

What part of your job do you enjoy most?

The impact we have on our clients and our ability to influence meaningful change. There is significant responsibility that comes with our role as trusted advisor, but there are significant rewards as well for us and our clients. An engagement I recently worked on resulted in multi-million dollar savings for the client; sufficed to say they were more than thrilled and we’ve fostered an even stronger relationship with them as a result. I’m so proud to be on a team that makes that kind of difference and it happens every day.

What is your favorite hobby to do when not at your job?
I recently started skiing again after a 10+ year hiatus…just in time for the worst East Coast ski conditions in years! With no plans to head out West this season, I may need a backup hobby…suggestions are appreciated!
