The New York Law Journal has a workmanlike and comprehensive look at reasons to worry about social media (not a lot of leavening, but one would not necessarily expect it from this source — the tone is one of risk management, and that’s fair enough). The title, “Social Networking Presents Challenges,” is a little like headlining a story in the Penguin Times “Escaped Polar Bear Cause for Concern,” but, again, one wouldn’t necessarily look to a law journal for shrieking and hairpulling. We have examined the issues around social media ourselves, for the first time in 2007, and we’re in full agreement that social media bring with them fresh complexity. Nevertheless, we have enough advice so that I’ll link to a search instead of a particular note on social media policy.

Polar bears don’t eat penguins. They are on a different pole.
