Hi Nigel,
Thanks for the tweet and the comment
There is a lot going in with Recruitment and social software. CRM gets a lot of attention, but recruitment is probably further ahead. There is already a healthy market for referral based applications.

Thomas, I agree the game has changed, not just for HR but for us all. Thanks for picking up on my tweet on this (and Oscar’s first trip to Gartner!)

In this instance we were emphasising different messages, but with a similar net result - it has been communicated to many more people through our respective trusted networks.

I think one of the next big questions will be how we monetize this, a debate currently ongoing around #scrm on twitter too. Is it more interesting if the final applicant or successful candidate found out about the job as a result of my tweet, subsequently saving the hiring organisation a huge amount of time, effort and money on the recruitment process - ensuring a potential incentive for me the referrer?

I don’t think t we are there yet with Social software - it exists today for traditional recruitment. Perhaps the currency will be different, it’s not money its recognition that could be important – either way – the game has changed and is evolving quicker than ever before.

Cheers, Nigel
