In my Twitter viewer, Tweetdeck, I have a search on Gartner. I glance at it once a day or so to see if there is stuff going on I should be aware of. I saw this earlier today.
This then takes you to the LinkedIn page of a Gartner recruiter, Peter Fay.
To those that say this social software stuff isn’t having a fundamental impact on HR processes, I say see above. If your organization isn’t using or seriously thinking about using these channels for passive candidate search, then perhaps it is time to start doing so. If you build recruiting software and you don’t have a plan on how to integrate all this social software business into your offering, I’d suggest you have some work to do.
Oh, and if you are interested in the job, please do get in touch with Peter.
There is also a cool job looking at privacy too. I’m almost tempted to apply for that one !-)

Thomas, I agree the game has changed, not just for HR but for us all. Thanks for picking up on my tweet on this (and Oscar’s first trip to Gartner!)
In this instance we were emphasising different messages, but with a similar net result – it has been communicated to many more people through our respective trusted networks.
I think one of the next big questions will be how we monetize this, a debate currently ongoing around #scrm on twitter too. Is it more interesting if the final applicant or successful candidate found out about the job as a result of my tweet, subsequently saving the hiring organisation a huge amount of time, effort and money on the recruitment process – ensuring a potential incentive for me the referrer?
I don’t think t we are there yet with Social software – it exists today for traditional recruitment. Perhaps the currency will be different, it’s not money its recognition that could be important – either way – the game has changed and is evolving quicker than ever before.
Cheers, Nigel

Hi Nigel,
Thanks for the tweet and the comment
There is a lot going in with Recruitment and social software. CRM gets a lot of attention, but recruitment is probably further ahead. There is already a healthy market for referral based applications.
