Chris Boden joined Lonely Planet’s executive team in November 2006, with a keen focus on emerging platforms. Chris has drawn on his entrepreneurial experience to quickly establish profitable lines of business on relevant new platforms such as mobile phones and navigation devices for Lonely Planet.

Matt Goldberg

Matthew (Matt) Goldberg joined Lonely Planet as CEO in March 2009 and moved his family from New York to Melbourne to take on his dream job – combining his love of travel, with his passion for building successful cross-platform media operations.

Matt was recruited by Lonely Planet’s major shareholder, BBCW, from Dow Jones & Company in New York, where he was senior vice president of digital strategy and operations. His responsibilities included leading business operations at The Wall Street Journal Digital Network, which includes websites WSJ.com, MarketWatch, Barrons.com and AllThingsDigital.com, as well as complementary mobile and video operations. He previously led Dow Jones’ corporate development group, including TV, radio and affiliate businesses, as well as corporate sales and marketing.

Shane Robison

Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Technology Officer
HP

Shane Robison is responsible for shaping HP’s corporate strategy and technology agenda and oversees the company’s corporate marketing function. He is instrumental in steering the company’s multibillion dollar research and development investment and leads the company’s merger and acquisition activities.

Overseeing the senior chief technology officers and the director of HP Labs, Robison drives the development of the company’s global technical community and its research initiatives. As head of strategy and corporate development, he is in charge of mergers and acquisitions, venture capital relationships and global strategic alliances. He was one of the principal architects of HP’s merger with Compaq Computer Corp. and led the acquisitions of Mercury, Opsware, EDS and 3Com, along with 30 smaller acquisitions since 2005.
