- Counting “avid” or “occasional” users, 86% of you use Linkedin, 58% Facebook, 34% Twitter, and 21% Google+
- From a company standpoint, 53% of your organisations “actively maintain and manage a branded corporate presence” vs 43% on Twitter, and 35% on Linkedin
To each persona its own site
- Facebook is used overwhelmingly for personal reasons: 94% of you use it for “keeping up to date with family and friends”, 57% for “posting my own thoughts or comments” and 56% for “keeping up to date with a specific group of people based on common interests”
- Linkedin is the forum of choice for professional networking: 93% of you use it for “keeping up to date with work colleagues and associates” and 76% for “maintaining and managing my online presence” with another 64% using it for “keeping up to date with specific people”
- Twitter is only used (by 49% of you) for “posting my own thoughts or comments”
Sticky or not?
- Facebook users are the most active, with 65% reporting they “post regularly and often” and 61% reporting they “check the site regularly – daily or more than once each day”
- Linkedin users are more casual, with 73% of you who ”check whenever I receive a notification or update but typically not otherwise” and 63% who “check every now and then, but not every day”
