Are Western Companies Going to Miss out on Lucrative Data Center Business in India?
The growth of core infrastructure in India over the next 10 years will result in a substantial build out of critical data center facilities in both metropolitan cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore etc but also in remote regions. Over the last few weeks, I have met almost 20 organisations looking to build new data centers here and whats really interesting is that whilst, some Indian companies are using internationally established design standards and tools, many are not. Moreover, local technical, environmental and financial issues means that these global designs need to be modified.
The feedback from many clients is that the international IT vendors operating in this region do not fully understand the local and specific needs of the Indian customer.
