Tony,

Ah paper tape. You and I must be from the same generation. That was my input medium of choice in my early programming days. I cut my teeth on the DEC PDP 11 series. I think I still have some spools in the attic.

As for HTML, writing HTML will be useful as long as blog comment boxes force you to enter tags manually!

Frank, I have the exact opposite superuseless superpower: I can almost infallibly identify the gender, age, etc. of a "bad driver", ie someone who's in my way but doesn't need to be. I can sometimes even guess the state they're from.

I don't think I was born with the power though. I think I've acquired it through 25+ years of driving in Boston.

Hi Nick - I used to be able to read numeric data directly off 8-hole ASCII paper tape. It wasn't useless at the time, but hey, life moves on!

More currently: is the ability to directly write HTML becoming superuseless?

Nick,

I actually have a completely useless superpower. My wife claims I can with 100% reliability misidentify the sex of bad drivers. Whenever I curse a driver and identify their sex in my imprecation (well I'm generally not too harsh, but it frequently starts with "Lady," or "Mister") , I'm always wrong. My wife says she's stumped on how to make money off this "talent."
