While it’s great to talk about the "Peak of Inflated Expectations" and the Plateau of Productivity" what everyone wants to know is "When will this become extinct?" Unfortunately, Gartner’s Hype Cycle does not predict extinctions.
But not to worry, now there’s the Extinction Timeline:

I think we should enter negotiations with the author, Ross Dawson, for adding extinction analysis to hype cycles immediately!
