This weekend a dear friend of our family passed away. She had been battling cancer for almost a decade and it finally claimed her life. She, her husband and children live in our neighborhood. They are about the same age as our family and we all grew up together.

Yesterday was the calling hours and as I was there with my family to pay our respects we looked at pictures of her life, her growing up, her life as a spouse, a mother, etc.

The pictures were testament to a rich life and one that was cut short.

The pictures of family vacations, holidays, dinners, everyone having fun. As our family looked at pictures of their family one thing became clear,

We have the same pictures in our photo albums. I am sure that you have many of the same pictures in yours.

As we mourn the loss of our friend, we also celebrate her life.

So, take a moment and think of your family photos, the situations, the fun, the people who you shared those moments with.

Remember those in the picture who are not longer with you

Reach out to the others you have not seen in a while to reconnect with them as life is sweet but it can also be short.

There is no better time to start than now.
