While I agree that there is no deperimeterization (even my spell checker does not recognize it). I do not credit &quot;the industry&quot; with the blather about it.  A few CIO types got together to form the Jericho Forum. They are not supported by the vendors for just the reason you state: there is no business model there.   
The analysts I have polled (a short list of ones I respect) are unanimous in agreeing with you.</description>
