It is fun to see that there are many kinds of systems in the BPO industry and in other industries that we know of. To be able to manage this one is a good one.

[...] vendors are adding rules, complex event processing and process simulators (just take a look at Jim Sinur’s list of the Top Ten BPM Technologies - all valuable stuff, but adding complexity). It seems to me that BPM as a technologyhas moved [...]

I would not suggest thta BPM is getting more technically complex with event management thus leaning away from business. Just the opposite. I would say that business types need to be made aware of events that imply business opportunities or threats. Case management is one way to cope with surprises and is not inconsistent with adapting to events.

Surely, Jim. And these have been converging fast. In my post at http://wp.me/pN8i1-30, I have drawn a view of the converging ecosystem.

However, one thing we all would want to be sorted out is the lack of synergy among these technologies in practice. The solutions ought to move over the siloed view of technologies to a more converged view.

    Ashish,

We beleive thta the largest mass of convergence today is the BPMS, but there will be incremental cobinations, Thanks for sharing

    Very useful list, Jim.

I recommend you go into more details about CEP, BPM and BRMS as you did in that last keynote presentation at BPM Summit.

I elaborated on your presentation there http://bit.ly/d69Hi7

As I said before, very inspiring!
