This is a shared posting from Elise Olding and me. First of all, we want to thank all the participants who submitted entries. It was a difficult task to select the winners from the great cast of entries. We made our decisions on the merits of the BPM result without regard for technology provider participation or support. In fact, four entries had no associated vendor. We also would like to thank folks for their patience with our process for announcing our selections. We have known the winners of the Gartner BPM awards for a week now, but we had to communicate with the winners to make sure they would be present at the upcoming BPM conference in Orlando on October 5-7. We can’t wait to hear the inside scoop from these successful organizations. See the press release:

We had designated three categories before the judgment process. The first was the “The Best BPM Journey”, the second was “The Best BPM Bottom Line” and the third was “Out of the BPM Box Delivery”. Since we had troubles finding more than two out of the box thinking candidates, we decided to have more competitors in “the Best Bottom Line” category.
See for some impressive statistics and thoughts

What does Honorable Mention mean? Is it a 2nd place?
Thank you for explanation.

It means a close second place. Far and away better than the other finalists.
