It’s a shame that Gartner has stopped issuing press credentials to bloggers (such as myself) so that we could attend the BPM summit where these awards will be given, and report on them.

Sandy,
That is news to me. I wonder what the reason is?

Not sure, but somehow your PR person has the idea that I’m going to pay to attend. Apparently only full-time paid journalists are being given press credentials, not those of us who actually do BPM in real life.

Sandy,
Just curious, have you covered or published anything about the upcoming BPM Certification that is about to be released from ABPMP? Would like to hear more from the BPM community about this…

Hi Mike, I haven’t covered this — there seems to be a number of BPM certifications coming out these days, and it’s going to get confusing in the marketplace as people try to figure out which of them have value. My advice while this settles out is to take courses where you can benefit from the content, not because of a specific certification, since there’s no commonly accepted certification to date (although I’m sure that all of the organizations offering certification will disagree with me
).

Sandy,
Every year, as a normal course of business planning, we conduct a thorough review of our press registration process. In regard to bloggers, we still allow some bloggers to attend, but we review blogger’s requests for media passes on a case by case basis. In general, we do grant media passes to full-time reporters and bloggers. Any follow up questions can be directed to our PR folks
Jim.
