		<description>You must be reading my mind. I have a reasearch note in editing now that goes all the way on this topic with a nice graphic. There wan’t enough room on one digetable blog posting as I have to keep postings short and sharp. You can find “the rest of the story” in that note and previous postings on unstructured processes, intelligent decisions and transforming BI in previous posts.</description>

I think you outline a third way for rules and processes to interact - not only can rules-based decisions simplify processes and provide a basis for adding analytics, they can also drive highly configurable processes and case management.
