I know I have been kind of rude, in that, I haven’t told you much about myself despite your loyal readership. Let me clear up this issue now. I know I always find it interesting to know about the author I am reading at the moment. Of course, you can read my biography on Gartner’s site and on Linkedin, but it does not tell the whole story. Let me put my cards on the table, so you can understand the personal filters I have to help you understand where I come from. You can of course look at my head shot in a number of forums, but let’s see me in my natural elements:
I used to rip up the roads in this little blue monster until I converted to green. I am hoping for performance electric cars in the future.
I used to keep billfish, but I now practice catch and release.
I now pick up other peoples garbage on my long hikes, should I discover it. You can also discover love as my first date with Sherry was a hike in the Superstition Mountains
What turns my crank?
I am basically an adrenalin junkie, so I used to race motorcycles and free climb vertical granite cliffs in all kinds of weather. This explains the pictures I selected as they show my toned down versions of both. It is amazing what having seven children and seven grandchildren will do to tame a free spirit. Now I revel in looking at performance cars, big game fishing, producing movies and hiking the Grand Canyon (the easy end of it).
I still have the appetite for edgy music like Stradivarius, Evanescence, The Foo Fighters, Green Day, Hoobastank, Smashing Pumpkins, Coheed & Cambria, Placebo, Velvet Revolver and Trapt. I also enjoy settling for the mellow life of the roaming and romantic lyrics of Journey, REM, U2, Tom Petty, Coldplay, Erasure, Toto and the Gin Blossoms. I am a music freak and I use it to free myself to write. All writer’s blocks dissipate for me with music and it is an essence of the good life for me. Poetry to harmony makes a good day for me.
I am also great appreciatory of art as early in my life I attempted art in the form of sketching, India ink and pastels. It’s a part of life that will come back to me after I hang up my keyboard. To that end I am taking some art appreciation courses that are “hands on” by nature. I’m not just about computer related technology, but technology has turned out to be another love; mostly in the form of BPM and Business Rule Management. Transparence is important in a blog relationship, so I hope I have given some small insight into your author.
Rock on !!
Jim
