You may have noticed that I have not been posting much recently (other than links posts — more on that in a moment). The main reason is that I have had to focus on my day job. Thomas and I are putting the finishing touches on the new Magic Quadrant for Employee Performance Management (EPM) Software. My team has been working on a special reporting on Electronic Invoice Presentment and Payment (EIPP for short) requiring lots of research to be reviewed and approved. In addition, others on my team have been completing their own Magic Quadrants (for Corporate Performance Management and Contract Management). Finally, we are doing agenda planning for 2009 (not only our own, but trying to sync up with other parts of Gartner). All in all, it is has been a very busy time.
So, I guess I know where the time has gone. To try to keep the blog active, I finally figured out a better way to do link posts (and cross-post them to both blogs). I am using Diigo. So far, it has been a really good experience. It posts the links more reliably than del.icio.us (to be fair it was a "beta" feature. In addition, it uses the del.icio.us API and can import del.icio.us bookmarks and update del.icio.us with its bookmarks (so I can continue to use my del.icio.us tag cloud).
There are a few other goodies coming (for Gartner clients). I have a note on Talent Management application usage trends based on our EPM customer survey data. It is in peer review right now. I also have another research note planned shortly based on the survey data about EPM implementation trends.
