Worms 2 and Open Source Credit Card Numbers

by Greg Young  |  January 22, 2009  |  Comments Off

Worms are back.  Reports that the Downadup worm(s) have infected something around 3.5 million PCs in a short amount of time are not surprising.  Threats will continue looking for the weakest link, and bots will be evasive and try more than one method to get onto endpoints.

And once we plug the wormholes, back we go to email, then websites….

[Greg puts a hand to one ear] .. just a moment please, we have breaking news of a massive breach of a possible 100 million credit cards…

Jumping jehosephat.  The state of our network security today reminds me of Kristin Wiig’s Penelope character on SNL, who continuously is one-upping everyone, but in this case it is who can have the largest and most outrageous breach.  Would anyone whose credit number has not been compromised please standup?  Bueller?…

Technology is not the problem – we have plenty of that.
